Prof. Dr. Heinrich Degenhart, Verband Deutscher Treasurer e.V.
Prof. Dr. Heinrich Degenhart is a member of the board of the Association of German Treasurers (VDT e.V.) and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for Finance and Financial Economics.
Professor Degenhart specializes in ratings and financial market communication, corporate and structured finance. One of his main areas of focus is financial concepts for the implementation of the energy transition.
After completing his banking apprenticeship, studies in law and economics, a doctorate, and initial research activities, he worked for many years as a controller at the headquarters and as director and head of corporate banking in the branch network of a major German bank. After transitioning to academia, Mr. Degenhart served as Vice President for Financial Development at Leuphana University Lüneburg, among other roles. Until 2023, he held the Chair of Finance and Financial Economics at Leuphana University Lüneburg.
The Association of German Treasurers (VDT e.V.) is the leading professional association for corporate treasury in the German-speaking world. The association currently includes financial executives from over 830 companies among its members, including numerous companies in the utilities sector. It represents approximately 2 trillion euros in revenue. The VDT e.V. provides its members with a platform for sharing experiences, observes trends and developments, prepares relevant topics for knowledge exchange, and disseminates them within the community.
