Sebastian Carneiro is the CEO and Co-Founder of Solas Capital AG. Prior to founding Solas Capital, Sebastian was a Director at Europe’s largest private energy efficiency fund. He previously worked at HSH Nordbank and PWC and has over 15 years’ experience in structuring and financing energy efficiency and energy infrastructure projects. Solas Capital is an employee-owned specialist investment advisory firm committed to supporting the shift to a carbon-neutral society. The team comprises market leading experts in the sectors of energy efficiency and distributed renewable energy generation/PV self-consumption projects, who drive an innovative investment strategy focussed on Article 9 eligible assets. Solas Capital advises the Solas Sustainable Energy Fund ICAV (SSEF), a EUR220m fund which launched in February 2022. It is “dark green” fund, compliant with Article 9 of the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR). The fund is backed by large institutional investors from both the public and private sectors, including the European Investment Bank and MunichRe. Sebastian is a CFA and holds a degree in Industrial Engineering and Management. He is passionate about structuring investment solutions which accelerate the deployment of green assets needed to make the energy transition a success.
