Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

BAI already offers Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQ) on various asset classes, which can also be requested by non-members free of charge.

The now completed Due Diligence Questionnaire for Private Debt Single Funds is intended to support investors in selecting suitable asset managers for loans primarily to companies, but also for other loans.

The questionnaire consists of a comprehensive list of questions that take into account a wide variety of aspects. On the one hand, it provides information on the management, legal and organizational set-up of the investment or asset manager. On the other hand, criteria such as incentive and fee structures are also examined.
Focus will naturally also be placed on the previous track record and the investment strategy. Information on risk management and reporting, which is essential for institutional investors, is also included. Furthermore, the template asks for essential information on ESG policy and on the consideration of environmental, social and governance management aspects both in the investment process and with regard to ongoing monitoring.

The template is designed in such a way that asset managers can fill in text fields directly for the answers ("word"-based). In view of the international nature of the industry, the questionnaire is only available in English.

The questionnaire is now accessible to BAI members via the member area of the homepage. Non-members can request the questionnaire free of charge on the BAI homepage, section "Publications and Press".

The authors Annette Olschinka-Rettig and Sven Gralla are available for suggestions and queries.

With kind regards,

Annette Olschinka-Rettig
