Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

Private equity remains a sought-after asset class, as recently confirmed by surveys conducted by the Institutional Investor Institute or the data provider Preqin. As part of the preparation for the BAI Alternative Investor Conference (AIC), BAI's annual industry conference on 14 and 15 May, institutional investors also confirmed to BAI their continued willingness to invest. At the same time, they expressed concerns about investment opportunities and rising asset prices in the private equity segment. Risk management, in particular portfolio monitoring down to the operational company level, and performance measurement and -comparability of PE funds were also mentioned as specific challenges.

From BAI's point of view, conclusions for the PE industry are therefore in particular the development of new value drivers and growth strategies, e.g. through enhanced intergration of portfolio companies or co-investment strategies, which are increasingly in demand among investors.

Detailed information on the asset class private equity such as articles, studies, statistics, etc. can now be found in the section "Main topics" on the BAI homepage.

The complete press release is available here.
