Bonn, March 22, 2018. The Federal Association of Alternative Investments (BAI), the cross-asset and cross-product advocacy association for the Alternative Investments industry in Germany, can look back on a successful financial year 2017 and continues its growth trend. At the annual General Meeting on March 15, Board and Management were able to report on important impulses from BAI's association work in the fields of investment taxation law, investor regulatory law and funds and market regulation. The successful lobbying is reflected by a steady increase in the number of members - last year alone, 26 new member companies joined the BAI. Currently, 181 companies are member of BAI.
At the General Meeting, chairman Achim Pütz, partner at Dechert LLP, was confirmed in office. Rolf Dreiseidler, Managing Partner of Polaris Investment Advisory AG, Bastian Schmedding, Managing Director of Intermediate Capital Group GmbH (ICG) and Prof. Dr. Rolf Tilmes, Scientific Director of PFI Private Finance Institute of EBS Business School, were confirmed in office as well.
Matthias Erb, Partner at StepStone Global, and Andreas Kalusche, Board Member of Prime Capital AG, were newly elected to the BAI Board. Dr. Joachim Kayser and Matthias Schellenberg did not stand for re-election at their own request. Achim Pütz thanked Dr. Kayser and Mr. Schellenberg for their years of work and commitment to the association.
